CODE submits views to the CMA's mobile browser investigation

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority has re-opened its market investigation into mobile browsers and cloud gaming. The investigation is examining whether restrictions on mobile browser distribution and capability are harming competition and consumers in the UK.

With several of CODE's members distributing their services to users via web apps and browser extensions, CODE has a strong interest in protecting the integrity and potential of the open web. We support the CMA's findings to date with respect to web apps, and urge the CMA to look more closely at the equally harmful restrictions that are imposed on browser extensions across both ecosystems.
