New API Feedback Page

ree

We have a new addition to our website! Based on collated feedback on the application programming interfaces (APIs) released by various Big Tech companies to comply with the European Digital Markets Act Article 6(9), we introduce our new feedback page.

The designated gatekeepers, Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Apple, ByteDance (TikTok), Booking, Meta, and Microsoft (LinkedIn), have all created data portability solutions, with the intention of providing "end users and third parties authorised by an end user, at their request and free of charge, with effective portability of data provided by the end user or generated through the activity of the end user in the context of the use of the relevant core platform service, including by providing, free of charge, tools to facilitate the effective exercise of such data portability, and including by the provision of continuous and real-time access to such data."

Based on aggregated feedback from our members, we provide traffic lights on how these portability solutions are working, based on verification procedure, consent flow, communication, data quality and technical usability. We have left out two gatekeepers due to lack of data, but we hope to add them soon. If you would like to contribute feedback, get in touch

This page acts as a publicly accessible documentation of how these APIs are working on the ground, and may be of use to a wide range of stakeholders, be it developers interested in accessing them, policymakers and regulators checking compliance, or even gatekeepers themselves. We hope this will be of use to a wide variety of stakeholders, and we are happy to engage and answer any questions.

Please note that the webpage is only available on desktop.
